Funeral Celebrants
Choosing the right ‘person’ to conduct your loved one’s ceremony can be a difficult decision and is often left to us the funeral director to choose who we believe will give you the service you want.
Choosing the right ‘person’ to conduct your loved one’s ceremony can be a difficult decision and is often left to us the funeral director to choose who we believe will give you the service you want.
Here, we would like to give you the opportunity to have a small insight into a selection of a few local funeral celebrants, who (subject to availability) would be willing to conduct the funeral ceremony for you.
All celebrants will work with you to create a personal fitting tribute to your loved one’s memory.
John Beever
I am an Independent Funeral Celebrant based in Oldham officiating at funeral ceremonies throughout Greater Manchester. I am a member of the Fellowship of Funeral Celebrants.
As an Independent Celebrant I have no professional affiliation with any church or humanist society. I will work closely with you to ensure that each ceremony is written, created and presented to totally honour the uniqueness of the person who has died. Together we will capture the very essence of your deceased loved one in a dignified and special ceremony.
We can create a religious, part religious, non religious or an alternative service to honour and celebrate the life of the deceased. The ceremony is designed to be uplifting and sensitive acknowledging the sadness the death has created alongside the celebration of a life lived.
Together we can plan readings, music, family involvement, hymns, poems and anything you and your family require. I will work closely with you and your funeral director to ensure that all your ceremony needs are sensitively met. I will provide you with bound copies of the eulogy and service for you to keep and treasure.

Jane Antrobus
I am Jane Antrobus a trained and experienced “Independent Celebrant” affiliated to the Fellowship of Independent Celebrants (FOIC)
I have been a Celebrant (a job that I absolutely love) for over 5 years and prior to that, I worked in the public sector helping bereaved families for over 30 years.
I’m local to you, born and brought up in Oldham.
When a loved one passes then it is time to celebrate that life, with a service that is fitting to the individual and reflects their true spirit and personally.
I will help, advice and support you at the time when you need someone most.
Together we will chat about your departed loved one’s wishes and life story, to create that perfect “Celebration of a life well lived”, whether that is a burial, cremation, memorial or “Ashes Ceremony’. This can include any religious elements or not – the choice is yours

Michael Bidny
Hello,
I am Michael and I am a funeral celebrant and have been since 2015.
My aim is to provide “ you “ with a service for your loved one that will honour that person’s memory. The service will be as you or as your loved one would have wanted.
Upon receiving instructions I would visit you at your home and discuss the service which could include poems, music, readings, and if you wish The Lords Prayer. From this I would construct your service, but keeping you informed at every stage.
The service is not what should be included – it’s what the family would like to include.
Thank you for reading this short bio, and I hope that I can be of service to you should the time come when you require a funeral celebrant.
