What to expect during the Funeral Arrangement

We believe in the power of support and the importance of compassion in times of grief. Our dedicated family is here to guide you through this difficult time with understanding and care.

The Funeral Arrangement

Initial Contact

Please begin by reaching out to us at your earliest convenience by contacting the specific office directly via their provided telephone number. Our lines are available 24 hours a day to assist you.

Initially, we will gather essential information about your loved one, including their full name, age, date of birth, and address. Following this, we will request your contact details and pose a few preliminary questions about the funeral arrangements. Once we have this information, we will guide you through the initial steps and schedule a meeting at a time that is convenient for everyone involved.

We recommend visiting our office for the arrangement meeting, as it allows us to provide comprehensive support. Our office is equipped with all necessary materials, including brochures, samples, images, and paperwork, enabling you to make informed decisions regarding the funeral arrangements in a supportive environment.

We recognise that you may feel more at ease in the familiar comfort of your own home, or circumstances may prevent you from visiting us. Please rest assured, we are more than willing to come to you if that is your preference.

Please be aware that, in most cases, we recommend not scheduling meetings within the first 24 hours following your loved one's passing. We believe it is crucial for you to have this time to rest, begin processing your loss, and approach the necessary decisions with a clear mind.

It is worth noting that you do not need to have registered the death or have Coroners clearance to begin arrangements.

Meeting the Funeral Director

The funeral arrangement meeting is a crucial collaboration between us the funeral directors and you the family.

During the funeral arrangement we will discuss all aspects of the funeral service and the preparations leading up to the day. We believe every life is unique and deserves the perfect farewell, with this we will start with a completely blank piece of paper and ask a series of questions to tailor the service around your needs. These questions include but are not limited to the choice between burial or cremation, the location of the service, required transport, musical selections, coffin options and opportunities to spend quality time with your loved one.

We will also discuss and complete the legal paperwork required for the funeral to take place and explore additional details such as utilising our exceptional floral design team, our in house funeral stationery products (please see our funeral stationery section), monumental memorials and how we can help to personalise the service for your loved one.

We understand this is vast amount of information for you to know in the immediate days of your loss, please do not panic we do not expect you to have all the answers straight away, it is important to know we will give you the upcoming days to discuss and finalise finer details . As we say to all our families 'A funeral can only be done once. We cannot revisit or redo it, so it must be perfect the first time'.

If you are in a position where you have never had to arrange a funeral and don't know where to begin, please do not worry, we will take your hand and guide you with our advice, years of experience, recommendations and honest opinions.

As the arrangement progresses we will take notes on your behalf, highlighting important information you require and any details you require time to think about. You will take these notes home in one of our packs, allowing you to have valuable information at hand.

Essentially, we will do as much as we physically can to allow you the time to focus on grieving.

Dates and Times of the Funeral

In arrangements where there is no coronial involvement we will be able to discuss and arrange the day and time of the funeral whilst you are with us. Our policy is to try and work around the days and times that are best for you, we do not operate a system where we choose the date and time.

Estimates

At the conclusion of the funeral arrangement process, we will provide you with a detailed written estimate that includes all the aspects we have discussed along with their associated costs. In certain instances, it may be necessary to consult with third parties before finalising the estimate, but we will strive to ensure that the provided estimate closely reflects the final amount.

Please note that the estimate may be subject to change if there are any alterations to the funeral arrangements or if any additional services are requested.

Once you have left

Once you have left us after the funeral arrangement, our next priority, should your loved one not already be in our care, is to facilitate their transfer to us as soon as all necessary legal documentation is in place. We aim to bring your loved one into our care within 48 hours once all legal paperwork has been completed. In some instances, we may be able to do this on the same day.

As a small family-run business, there are times when our schedule is fully occupied with funeral services, which may delay the process of bringing your loved one into our care.

We will always make it a point to give you a courtesy call to inform you once your loved one is with us, providing you with peace of mind that they are being cared for by our family.

Our Promise

No upselling, no sales tactics, no tick boxes and no taking advantage of your emotional state.

Just honest and transparent guidance throughout.
